General Management Plan for the Upgrade of Hemlock Overlook Park

George Barker called and advised that the Northern Virginia Park Authority is preparing to develop a General Management Plan for the 225 acre Outdoor Education Center at Hemlock Overlook Regional Park. The Outdoor Educational Center is operated through a joint venture between NVRPA and George Mason University. Also, the NVRPA is exploring possible locations to site a proposed Visitors/ Education Center building at the Park. There will be a series of Public Meetings starting in February, 2001 to work out the Park's modernization plans. There are plans for all Parks in our system to undergo modernization/upgrade sometime soon.
