General Membership Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. on November 10, 2005 at the Clifton Elementary School.
Members Present: Approximately forty individuals, representing member associations and individuals, were in attendance.
OLD BUSINESS
Approval of Minutes: Minutes from the previous annual meeting of November 7, 2004 were accepted as presented.
NEW BUSINESS
Remarks by Larry Hensle, president of OWC: Larry Hensle made a few comments regarding the numerous issues that the OWC has been involved in during this past year, including the following comments:
- The OWC was invited to meet with several potential institutional site developers during the course of the year to discuss the developer's plans and the OWC's thought's on those prospects. No major development has proceeded from the parties met.
- The Washington Gas pipeline that is being constructed along Wolf Run Shoals Rd. is nearing completion. The OWC did not take a position on the construction as we had not opposed the Dominion Gas pipeline crossing of the reservoir.
- Introduced James Bonhivert as the nominee for the next president of OWC, which will be elected in the Board meeting, following the annual meeting. At this point, James Bonhivert made a few comments.
Election of Directors: Larry Hensle representing the nomination committee made the following motion:
- Re-election of directors whose terms are up at the end of 2005 - Jim Chesley, Larry Hensle, Bob Orlosky and David Schnare.
This motion was seconded, and after discussion, the nominations were confirmed by a unanimous vote.
Gift by Jane McWilliams: Larry Hensle invited Jane McWilliams forward and she made a presentation of $200 from the Dominion Valley Garden Club.
Presentations: Paul Gilbert, Executive Director - Northern Virginia Regional Park Authority made a slide presentation regarding the "The Regional Park Along the Occoquan". Paul also answered numerous questions and was available after the meeting for further discussion.
